Dr. Lee, a graduate of Seoul National University, class of 1952, received his MBA and Ph.D. in Accounting and Finance from New York University and his certified Public Accountant license from the State of New York.

He has been a Professor of Accounting at Long Island University, New York since 1965; a former President of the Korean Association of the New York Metropolitan area; the founder of the Korean Cultural Center, Inc. in New York, and he has been very active in Korean Community affairs.

In 1966, Dr. Helen Kim, President of EWHA Woman's University, Seoul, Korea asked Dr. Lee to form the Development Committee of the New York area; a predecessor of the International Foundation for EWHA Woman's University. He is a founding member of the foundation, the treasurer and an executive board member since 1972, and additionally was a visiting professor in the summer of 1971 at Kyungnam University, Masan, Korea.

EWHA Woman's University awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Liberal Arts to Dr. Lee in 1968 on the 102nd anniversary of the founding of EWHA.They awarded him an Appreciation Plaque at its annual banquet in San Francisco on November 1, 1986.

He has been a member of the Advisory Council on the Peaceful Unification Committee for the Republic of Korea since 1985, appointed by the President of the Republic of Korea.

In December 1992, Dr. Lee was appointed President of the New York chapter of the Korean Assembly for the Reunion of Ten Million Separated Families, which has its headquarters in Seoul, Korea.
