C.W. Post Alumni Association Celebrates its 100,000th Graduate at the NYC Reception
More than 200 C.W. Post alumni gathered at the New York Athletic Club in Manhattan on Thursday, June 5, 2008 to celebrate a great milestone - the graduation of C.W. Post's 100,000th alumnus, and to reconnect with classmates, administrators, deans and faculty.
Present were alumni from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and graduates from 2000 to 2008. Also in attendance were members of Long Island University Board of Trustees and members of the C.W. Post Alumni Association Board of Directors.
Alumni mingled and reunited with friends and enjoyed music from the C.W. Post Jazz Quartet. Alumni Association President Bob Jahelka '84 began the speaking program with a welcome to alumni guests. Eric Tveter, a trustee of Long Island University and a member of the class of 1980, welcomed the group on behalf of the Board of Trustees. Dr. Steinberg, president of Long Island University, also addressed the audience, encouraging them to visit campus and emphasized the significance in becoming more involved with the Alumni Association and University.
The reception was sponsored by KPMG LLP; Robert Arning, class of 1984 and managing partner of the Northeast Division of KPMG LLP, facilitated the sponsorship.
The New York City Alumni Reception was warmly received by the alumni community. The event was a great success and everyone looks forward to next year's reception!
