Found
in Winnick House: C.W. Post’s Texan Bricks
During the renovation of the Winnick House Administration
Building on the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University in
Brookville, New York, contractors found bricks emblazoned with
the letters P-O-S-T. It’s no coincidence: they were made
in Post, Texas, a city founded in 1907 by Charles W. Post himself.
His daughter, Marjorie Merriweather Post, used Post bricks for
renovations to her Brookville house, which eventually became the
administrative center of the C.W. Post Campus.
