School of Public Service
Overview
The central mission of the School of Public Service
is to educate future managers and administrators of public agencies
through undergraduate and graduate curricula that combines a top
quality educational environment with frequent and direct involvement
in management, policy and research issues.
The C.W. Post School of Public Service consists of
the Department of Health Care and Public Administration. The School
of Public Service is one of the best places to prepare for a variety
of fields through stimulating courses and challenging internships.
There is no shortage of career opportunities for students interested
in helping people better their lives. Thats why the School
and its outstanding faculty are dedicated to educating students
through a curriculum that incorporates the most progressive ideas
in the field.
The School of Public Service places an emphasis on
both policy analysis and public management. These concerns include
a broad spectrum of issues regarding criminal justice, security
administration, health care and public administration, and social
work. Excellence runs throughout each program, including the MPA
in Public Administrationwhich is accredited by the National
Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration.
Each program emphasizes practical experience, which
is why we offer career-enhancing internships in law enforcement
agencies, government offices, the courts system and more. Our outstanding
full-time faculty are assisted by adjuncts who have local and international
experience. They range from police officers and commissioners to
lawyers and judges.
