Patsy and Al Kahn Discovery Center Opens
On Tuesday, September 6, a new state-of-the-art classroom building, Patsy and Al Kahn Discovery Center, opened its doors for classes at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University.
More than 2,000 students are taking classes each day in the building, which features 10 Internet-ready “smart” classrooms, six seminar rooms and two film studios.
The red-brick academic building is located on Post Lane behind Humanities Hall and between Tilles Center and the Little Theatre. The building can be found on our campus map at http://www.cwpost.liu.edu/cwis/cwp/location/map.
The building is named for C.W. Post alumnus Alfred R. Kahn, the marketing genius behind Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Cabbage Patch Kids, who donated $1.1 million toward the renovation of the building from an outdated gymnasium to a state-of-the-art classroom center.
The Patsy and Al Kahn Discovery Center was dedicated on October 22, 2005 in conjunction with the C.W. Post's Campus' 50th anniversary celebration. For more information visit our web site at http://www.cwpost.liu.edu/cwis/cwp/50th_celebr.htm
