Contemporary Poets of the English Language. 1970. (Ref. PR 603 .C63x) A dictionary which provides biographical and bibliographical information about poets now writing in the English language.


Deutsch, Babette. Poetry Handbook: A Dictionary of Terms. 1969. (Ref. PN 44.5 .D4 1969)


Dyson, A.E., ed. English Poetry: Select Bibliographical Guides. 1971. (Ref. Z 2014 .P7 E53) Contains biographical and critical bibliographies on selected poets from Chaucer to Eliot.


Faverty, Frederic E. The Victorian Poets: a Guide to Research. 1968. (Ref. PR 593 .F3 1968) Bibliographic essays on individual poets.

Preminger, Alex. Princeton Encyclopedia of Poetry and Poetics. 1974. (Ref. PN 1021 .E5 1974) Consists of about 1,000 entries dealing with the history, theory, technique,and criticism of poetry from the earliest time to the present.


Spender, Stephen. The Concise Encyclopedia of English and American Poets and Poetry. 1963 (Ref. PR 19 .S6) Has articles on poets as well as general topics concerning poetry. Includes a bibliography of works and critical material.


Untermeyer, Louis. The Pursuit of Poetry: A Guide to Its Understanding and Appreciation with an Explanation of its Form and a Dictionary of Poetic Terms. 1969.
