IRISH CONTEMPORARY POETS
SPECIAL COLLECTIONS
At the B. Davis Schwartz Memorial Library

Welcome to C.W. Post Library's rare book holdings of "Irish Contemporary Poets." We are indebted to the generosity of the late Winthrop Palmer who has made this possible. Mrs. Palmer most especially desired the Library to develop its collection in the areas of poetry, and Irish and French literatures. The Special Collections Department of the Library has adhered to this initial focus.

This catalog is concerned with the writings, including translations, of 65 Irish men and women who are primarily poets. Whenever these writers produce a work in another format it is so noted within brackets. A poet is "contemporary" whose works are published inclusively, or almost so, during the second half of the 20th Century. Translations are arranged after the poet's original works, and collaborations are so noted.

The writings of these poets found in various collections and periodicals will be forthcoming in another holdings list. So, stay tuned.

We welcome your comments and questions. For further information please see our website. You may also contact us at Conrad.Schoeffling@liu.edu or 516/299-2880.
