Travel Directions to the LIU Post Library
By Car:
- From New York City:
- Take the Queens-Midtown Tunnel to the Long Island Expressway
(a.k.a. L.I.E. or 495).
Proceed on the L.I.E. approximately 21 miles to
Exit 39N -
Glen Cove Road. Exit and
proceed north 1 1/2 miles to Northern Boulevard
(a.k.a. Rte. 25A).
Turn right (east) and travel
2 miles to the west entrance of LIU Post.
It will be on the right (south) side of the road where a Tilles
Concert Hall sign is located. The
Library is the first building on the left
after you have entered the campus.
- From Southern New Jersey and points south:
- Take the New Jersey Turnpike north to the Lincoln
Tunnel Exit (Exit 16).
Upon leaving the tunnel
on the New York side, follow the crosstown signs to
the Queens-Midtown
Tunnel (entrances on 2nd
Avenue and 34th Street and 36th Street), and proceed as
indicated above.
- From Northern New Jersey:
- Take the George Washington Bridge to the Cross Bronx Expressway.
Take this to the Throgs
Neck Bridge. Leaving the bridge, take the exit on the right,
Cross Island Parkway, towards Long Island.
Take this to the Long Island Expressway East, and follow
the directions as indicated above from
New York City.
- From Bronx, Westchester, and points north:
- Take most the convenient north-south parkway, turnpike, or thruway to
the Throgs Neck Bridge. Leaving the bridge, take
the exit on the
right, Cross Island Parkway, towards Long Island.
Take this to the Long Island Expressway East, and follow
the directions as indicated above from
New York City.
- From Staten Island and Brooklyn:
- Take the Verrazano Narrows Bridge to the Belt Parkway Eastbound
to Long Island. Remain on the
Belt Parkway until the Cross Island Parkway.
Take the Cross Island north to the
L.I.E.
Eastbound. Travel east on the L.I.E. to exit
39 North and proceed as
indicated above.
- From Eastern Long Island -
North Shore:
- Take the L.I.E. West to exit
41 North -
Route 107. Turn right upon
exiting, and
proceed north to Northern Blvd. (a.k.a.
Route 25A).
Turn left (heading west) at Northern Blvd., and continue to
the west entrance (2nd light) of the LIU Post
Campus.
At the Tilles Center sign make a left.
The library is the first building on the
left as you enter the campus.
- From South Shore of Long Island:
- In Nassau County take either the Wantagh State Parkway or the
Meadowbrook Parkway North.
From each of these you can then take the Northern State Parkway
North to Glen Cove Road -
Exit 31. Turn left at the exit, and proceed approximately 3
miles to
Northern Blvd. (Route 25A).
Turn right (east), and travel 2 miles to west entrance of the
campus.
- In Suffolk County take the most convenient North-South route
to the L.I.E., and
proceed as indicated
on Eastern Long Island - North Shore directions.
