Violinist, Elizabeth Lim-Dutton began studying at the age if three and performed her first recital at the age of five. In New York City, Ms. Lim-Dutton performs regularly with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, has toured for two seasons as Concertmaster for the New York City Opera National Company and has performed with a wide variety of ensembles, including as a member of the New Haven Symphony and with the New York City Ballet Orchestra. As a member of Steve Reich and Musicians and the Steve Reich Ensemble since 1992, Ms. Lim-Dutton has performed extensively in The United States, Europe, Asia and Australia and in such diverse and distinguished venues as the Musikverein in Vienna, Zankel Hall at Carnegie and the Sydney Opera House. Included on Ms. Lim-Dutton’s discography are solo recordings on the ESS.A.Y label and recordings of Steve Reich’s The Cave , City Life , Three Tales and Music for 18 Musicians on the Nonesuch label, the latter a 1998 Grammy Award winner for Best Performance by a Small Ensemble. In the recording business, Ms. Lim-Dutton has recorded dozens of film soundtracks and television and radio commercials. On Broadway, Ms. Lim-Dutton has performed in numerous productions, most recently in Promises, Promises. She attended the Professional Children’s School in New York City, received her Bachelor’s degree as a student of Dorothy DeLay at the Juilliard School, studied in Paris on a scholarship from Fontainebleau and received a Master of Music degree at the Yale School of Music-Yale University where she studied with Paul Kantor. Ms. Lim-Dutton currently resides in Bronxville, New York with her husband, violist Lawrence Dutton and their sons, Luke Thomas, Jesse Lee and Samuel Walter.
